You don’t need to buy gold every year or create a huge decorative setup. What truly matters is Shraddha (faith) and Bhakti (devotion).
My Simple Varalakshmi Vratam 2025 Celebration
This year, I chose a simple yet heartfelt approach to the pooja:
Prepared a beautiful yet minimal Lakshmi Devi idol setup in my home mandir.
Adorned her with all the jewelry I already had. Made five varieties of Naivedyam with complete dedication.
Performed "Sashtanga Namaskaram" with tears of gratitude in my eyes.
It was a deeply emotional and divine experience, and I felt Goddess Lakshmi’s blessings fill my home.
Traditional Joys of Varalakshmi Vratam
The beauty of this festival lies in small, meaningful traditions:
Wearing a new pattu saree for the occasion. Visiting my mother to seek her blessings.
Inviting her to my home to see our Varalakshmi Ammavaru. Offering tamboolam to visiting women. Sharing festive food with loved ones.
Of course, finishing all the special dishes by the end of the day was its own fun challenge! 😊
Key Rituals of Varalakshmi Vratam
For those new to the festival, here’s a quick ritual guide:
Kalasha Sthapana – Placing a decorated pot (Kalasham) representing Goddess Lakshmi.
Alankaram – Decorating the idol or pot with saree, flowers, and jewellery.
Pooja Vidhanam – Chanting mantras, offering Naivedyam, and performing aarti.
Offering Tamboolam – Giving betel leaves, fruits, and small gifts to married women.
