After almost six months of waiting, we were finally getting ready to move into our new home. We had planned our shifting day with so much excitement.
But our plans changed twice.
The first time, an unexpected leakage was found in one of the walls. The special texture paint on the wall was damaged, and although it was disappointing to see, we decided it was better to wait and make sure everything was completely safe before moving in.
The following week, a few more works were still pending. There was unexpected dust, noise and work happening in the house, so we decided to give it another week.
At that time, we simply thought our shifting was getting delayed.
Today, I feel those two weeks were actually given to us for a reason.
If we had moved earlier, we would have had to live through all that work and disturbance. Waiting a little longer allowed everything to be completed properly before we entered our new home.
Finally, in the third week, the time was right. We moved in with a feeling that perhaps everything had happened exactly as it was meant to.
The Moment I Saw Our Home
After all the waiting, postponements and anticipation, we were finally just a day away from moving into our new home. Then, our interior person shared a video of the home, completely cleaned and ready for us.
As I watched it, I suddenly felt overwhelmed with emotion. I almost had tears in my eyes. After nearly six months of waiting and so much effort, seeing our home finally ready felt truly special.
My husband and I were both filled with happiness. It was no longer just a house we had been working on for months. It was finally our home.
A Home Filled With Light and Positive Energy
As we slowly unpacked and started settling in, I began noticing little things that made this home feel so different from our previous one.
There was space everywhere. The rooms felt open, the sunlight came in beautifully, and there was so much fresh air moving through the house. The warm colors and interiors made everything feel bright, calm and welcoming.
But beyond what I could see, there was something else I could feel.
The house had a warmth and positive energy that made me feel peaceful.
This Is Mahadev's Home
One place that gives me the most peace is our temple.
Whenever I pass through it, I see the symbol of Mahadev on the wall. The moment I see it, my mind goes to Him.
Sometimes, when I feel distracted or get into the wrong mood, I simply look at Mahadev's symbol and remind myself:
Calm down. Trust Him. He will take care of everything.
That feeling has become very special to me.
I often tell Anjali that this is not simply our home. It is not mine, her father's, or even hers alone.
I tell her that Mahadev has given this home to us.
We are only blessed to live in it, care for it and fill it with love. Thinking of it this way makes me feel even more grateful, and it reminds me that we should always take care of our home with the same love and respect with which it was given to us.
My First Varalakshmi Puja in Our New Home
Another beautiful part of this new beginning was celebrating Varalakshmi Puja in our new home.
I wanted my Varalakshmi Puja to be simple and heartfelt. I have never felt that devotion has to be about showing off or following every social expectation around how a puja should be done.
For me, what mattered was being fully present and keeping my focus on Lakshmi Devi. I performed the puja in a simple way, with complete devotion, and that inner peace was more important to me than anything elaborate.
When the puja was over, I was left with a beautiful sense of peace and happiness. The simplicity of the puja made the whole experience feel very personal and special to me.
The happiness continued through the rest of the day. By evening, our home was filled with family and loved ones, and later, I went to my mother's home to exchange thamboolam. There was such a warm and pleasant feeling throughout the day that I never expected.
It felt like the perfect way to begin our journey in this new home, and it is a day I will always remember.

A New World for Anjali
One of the things I love most about our new home is seeing Anjali so happy. She now has a play area and many friends nearby, and she can happily go down, play and come back on her own.
She has found her own little world here, and seeing her happy and independent makes me even more grateful for this home.
A New Beginning
Now that we are almost completely settled, I find myself feeling grateful for the little things—the space, the peace, the laughter, and the feeling of finally being home.
More than anything, I feel blessed to have my family, parents, siblings, cousins and everyone who stood by us through this journey.
And when I look at our home, I feel that Mahadev has given us much more than a house. He has given us a beautiful new beginning.
This home has given us more than space. It has given us peace, gratitude and a beautiful new beginning.
And whenever I look at Mahadev's symbol in our temple, I feel the same quiet reminder:
Trust Him. Stay calm. He will take care of everything.
I feel blessed to begin this new chapter with His grace, and I pray that Mahadev's blessings always remain with our home and our family. 🌸
